Hi, I’m Clare – a Virtual Assistant based in Berkshire, England, and the founder of my own VA business.

My career began in teaching, driven by a passion for making a difference to children’s lives through education. That same passion has shaped much of the voluntary work I’ve gone on to do with charities and community organisations.

When both of my children went through Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, I wanted to give something back to the organisation that had given them so many exciting opportunities and adventures. That led me to become Chairperson of our local Scout group — a role that gave me valuable insight into how charities and community groups are run behind the scenes.

I also volunteered with a befriending service, spending time with older, isolated people in the community. Whether sharing stories over a cup of tea or enjoying a walk around the garden centre, those moments were incredibly special and reminded me of the power of simple human connection.

Another chapter of my journey was with a reading charity, where I helped children improve not only their reading skills, but also their confidence and self-esteem. I loved the work so much that I later became a fieldworker, supporting schools and volunteers across the county.

Due to changes in my personal circumstances, I now work remotely but my commitment to the charity sector hasn’t changed. I’ve seen first-hand the impact that charities make, and I want to continue supporting that work in a different way: by taking care of the admin and behind-the-scenes tasks that allow charities to focus fully on their mission.
